Shakeeta Torres is a Licensed Therapist, Author, Speaker, and Consultant specializing in trauma-informed systems and human trafficking education. She is the CEO of EmPowered2Shift Counseling Services, which she founded in 2017, and brings nearly two decades of experience in counseling and mental health services.
Since 2018, Shakeeta has actively educated professionals and communities on human trafficking, trauma dynamics, and ethical engagement. She has provided trainings and speaking engagements for universities, organizations, and community institutions, equipping attorneys, social workers, therapists, advocates, and multidisciplinary professionals with practical, trauma-informed insight.
She is also the founder of Doing It For The Kingdom Inc., a nonprofit established in 2020 focused on human trafficking awareness, prevention, and education. While her nonprofit work centers on advocacy and public education, her consulting and training services are provided through her professional practice and are offered as paid engagements.
Shakeeta is the author of God’s Call to Justice: The Spiritual Battle Against Human Trafficking, a book that explores human trafficking through systemic and trauma-informed perspectives. The book is frequently used as an educational resource for professionals seeking a deeper understanding of trafficking dynamics, survivor experiences, and the systems involved.
